Day 4 of MEGA Week Spotlights Mega Man 4

And time for another Mega game changer as MEGA Week continues with Mega Man 4!  Released in North America by Capcom in January, 1992 (I’ll add that it was a great birthday present for me that month/year…Lol), MM4 brought a couple of new concepts to the Mega Man universe.  First one is the introduction to the Mega Buster, a charged shot which helps defeat enemies a little easier than using the weak single plasma bullets Mega Man normally shoots.  The game also introduces a new villain by the name of Dr. Cossack, with his own fortress of madness and mayhem for the Blue Bomber to fight through (don’t worry, Dr. Wily is around there somewhere too…Lol).  And yes, there are 8 new robot masters to defeat and collect their weapons.  Some are actually pretty unique compared to the weapons in the first 3 Mega Man games (Rain Flush and Pharaoh Shot are pretty cool!).  This game also features 2 optional Adapter items that are hidden in select stages (Balloon and Wire Adapters), but they aren’t necessary to collect in order to beat the game since you’ll have Rush with you.

All in all, this is a very cool game that has its challenges and great music and some of the most interesting designed stages (ones to note are Skull Man, Dust Man, and the 1st Dr. Wily stage with a Met (the hard hat enemy) theme going on!).
